What To Do

I often ask myself why am I here. Everyone contemplates that same thought every so often. Thinking we have a “special” purpose or lesson to learn is usually what we come up with; however, the answer to what the purpose or lesson might be eludes us. At least, it eludes me. It changes, shifts and morphs into completely different thoughts and ideas; taking me on a wild journey of what if’s.

Trying to figure out the most basic thing, what am I here to do? It certainly must be more than just exist. Focusing on our own needs is necessary of course, but may become self serving which would seem to be wrong from all angles. Your joy and happiness, although important, should come from what you give, not what you take. Do you take too much for yourself? Do you care about others feelings more than things?

Lots of different thoughts to ponder, although I keep coming back to the importance of giving my smiles away. Offering kind words to everyone you meet. Understanding that you and your ideas are not always right or true answers from the universe is okay; neither are mine. We are all trying to do our best, but our egos keep sneaking into the picture changing our course and turning our true selves into selfish and blind individuals.

Seeing the truth rather than what we have been told to believe is not easy. Seeing past a person’s anger or pain is necessary for both of us and gives us a deeper look inside our own motives. Dig deep and open your eyes. I am not going to give up on myself or you. We have work to do and I am hopeful that we will be able to put worldly ego and minutia where it belongs and focus on what is truly important.
